Aurora, CO Mold Testing — Lab-Certified Air Quality Data

Spore trap (non-viable) testing collects all airborne particles — both live and dead — and identifies them by genus under microscopy. Results return in 24–48 hours and give total spore counts by genus. Viable culture testing captures only live, culturable spores and grows them in a lab, allowing species-level identification. Culture results take 5–7 business days. For most routine Aurora, CO testing situations, spore trap testing is appropriate. Viable culture is used when species-level ID matters — such as Stachybotrys investigation or occupational health documentation.

Minimum for a meaningful result is two indoor plus one outdoor comparative. Most Aurora residential tests involve three to five total samples. Commercial properties and multi-unit buildings require more. We scope the sampling protocol based on your specific situation — not a default package.

Consumer test kits detect presence — not concentration, not species, not comparison to outdoor baseline. They're not accepted by insurance carriers, real estate attorneys, or courts. For any situation where results need to stand up to scrutiny, professional accredited-lab testing in Aurora, CO is the only meaningful option.

Non-viable spore trap results from our accredited lab partner typically return within 24–48 hours of sample receipt by the lab. We ship samples same-day in most cases. Viable culture results take 5–7 business days. Your written report is compiled and delivered upon receipt of lab results — so for standard spore trap testing, most Aurora clients have their written report within 3–5 business days of the sampling appointment.

If you already have confirmed visible mold growth of significant extent, testing isn't always necessary before beginning remediation — what's there needs to go regardless. Testing is most valuable when: (1) you suspect mold but can't confirm it visually, (2) occupants have health symptoms without an identified source, (3) you're buying or selling a property and need documentation, or (4) you need to verify that remediation was completed successfully. We'll tell you honestly whether testing or direct remediation is the more appropriate step for your specific Aurora, CO situation.
